Help us raise awareness on the leading causes of injury.  Each week is focused on a specific category.  Follow our tips for each week to help keep you safe and healthy!

Week 1: Emergency Preparedness

·         Have you changed the batteries on all your smoke detectors in the past year?

·         Run a maintenance check on your generator to ensure it works before the summer storms hit.

·         Bring a travel first aid kit on your summer adventures –even your adventure to the grocery store (you never know)!

Week 2: Wellness

·         Stay active. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, park further away in a parking lot to get those extra steps and remember to stand up and stretch if you sit for a long period of time at your place of work. Small changes like this can make a big difference.

·         Hydration is key. In these hot summer months, make sure to drink lots of water.

·         Does your company have a workplace wellness program? Look into it!

Week 3: Falls

·         Sounds like common sense, but please, always watch where you are going.

·         Avoid common distractions, such as cell phones while walking.

·         If you are hiking, biking or rock climbing, always carry the proper equipment.

·         When using a ladder, ensure the base is on a firm, solid surface.

Week 4: Driving

·         Summer is the deadliest time of the year for teen drivers – the less distractions, the better for all involved.

·         Put the phone down! Social media and texts can wait until you’re safely parked.

·         Buckle up! Buckles are not placed in the car for decoration. They’re there to keep you and your passengers SAFE.
