
Tons of scary aspects come to mind when we think about Halloween. We have ghouls and goblins, vampires and zombies, and plenty of Frozen characters. Yes, this holiday can be a bit spooky, but we need to be aware of our real surroundings this coming Halloween night.
Plan your route. It’s always helpful to plan ahead. Having an idea of where you and the kids will be visiting will make for a smoother evening.
Look both ways! Tonight is the highest reported evening for accidents! There are plenty of distractions on Halloween night. Be aware of your surroundings, keep your children close, and look in all directions before crossing any streets.
Stay off the phone. This goes for drivers, especially. With so many distractions this evening, don’t add on by being consumed with your cell phone. Wait until you’re in a safe spot to take pictures and check social media. This is a fun evening, live in the moment!
Reflective tape. Tack on some reflective tape to your children’s costumes! No time for reflective tape? Carrying a flashlight will not only help guide your adventure, but it will be a great way for motorists to spot you, as well.
Remove hazards. Risk of trips and falls will decrease by turning on porch lights and removing any obstacles from your front yard. Halloween decorations should be placed in clear site for trick-or-treaters.
